Heat Saving Appliance Companies take Ecoflap on Board
Companies that deal with Energy heating systems and boiler installation are interested in the inclusion of Ecoflap.
Stock
Black and Silver Ecoflaps have sold out - originally it was thought that JI will not replace them. JI may carry a small additional stock in the future. similarly in Silver. Our first production selection has demonstrated that there is a high demand for the white Ecoflap. The fourth consignment - white - has now been delivered.
WHOOPS! There has been a further small trial consignment of BROWN Ecoflaps delivered. Unfortunately they haven't turned out the brown we anticipated. They appear brown in artificial light light, Mulberry in natural light - however quite pretty! and will suit a light coloured door. We will be having proper browns soon, but meanwhile JI can "over-colour" to Chocolate Brown if needed.

Further Development
Ecoflap will never blow open and consequently will not flap or rattle. This will help towards keeping heat loss costs down and keep your hall/room warmer. Development is now almost finalised onto the next stage of the Ecoflap System. Britain has been struck by extreme and very infrequent Arctic conditions of late.

Material from which Ecoflap is Made
Present production is made from ABS 757 compound which is a high quality thermo plastic, recyclable. A = Acrylonitrile B= Butadiene S = Styrene. ABS is formed from coal initially. Ecoflap is made from new material that can be recycled.
New! Standard Ecoflap with a Difference
JI has introduced an aluminium closure bar subtitute for the ABS closure bar on the inside of the Ecoflap, Although the Standard Ecoflap is fit for purpose, the aluminium closure bar will now be automatically dispatched at no extra cost.
Test Sequences
Ecoflap was presented for extreme testing at Wintech Engineering - Telford - June 29th 2009 -. There are two videos on the videos page showing pascal pressure applied to Ecoflap - Richard wanted it taken to destruction - however it remained unscathed. Ecoflap closed against 1700 pascals air pressure (equiv.to 114 mph!) also didn't blow open under this pressure. Ecoflap additionally stood up to a good soaking- no leakage after 15 minutes application of water followed by 100 pascals of air pressure.

Housing
Ecoflap is now being introduced for housing projects/development/regeneration schemes.
"If you already have an Antique Victorian Letter Plate etc - for eco reasons - don't think you have to change it - just fit an Ecoflap on the inside of your door!"
Ecoflap v. thin depth doors.
Occasionally, when the outside letter plate is pushed inwards, it may catch on Ecoflap and impede or trap the works of Ecoflap. Instances are so rare it was not included in the production of Ecoflap.
The situation is easily solved, by the insertion of a very small clip "widget" which we can send to you. it directs the post downwards, and ensures there is no contact of the outside letter plate with Ecoflap. The very small attachment is about 4cms X 8cms (1.5" x 3" ) and will solve the problem. It clips through into the top of the inside of Ecoflap.
You must let us know if you find that once Ecoflap is installed there is this problem and we'll send one to you.
Screws are not supplied due to the varying depths and materials of doors. The adhering method may be chosen. Screws recommended if used are 3.5mm x 12/15 mm countersink.
Narrow Cross Panel
if the letter box is situated on a narrow cross panel on the door, then please consult us. There is an intermediate solution to this. (Maybe to be included in future productions but not at present as instances have been rare.) You are advised to study measurements that can be viewed on the downloads page.
General Information
Housebuilding and maintenance address the code of sustainability (which has become mandatory since May 2008) and there is big emphasis on energy efficiency and "airtightness" for all new build.
